Application of the equipment/machine

The muffle furnace is used to perform heat treatment up to 1200 °C.

Limitations of the equipment/machine

a) Heat treatment of materials that are reactive at high temperature can not be performed due to formation of gases.

b) A maximum weight of 1.2 Kg can be placed inside the furnace.

c) Heat treatments are not be performed at lower temperature (<400).

Consumables/sample preparation of the machine

In specific cases, crucibles might be required depending upon the type of sample.
