Biography
Presently serving as Associate Professor, Dr Singla had recently completed her tenure as Head of the department, at Mechanical Engineering Department, IIT Ropar. She is a Recipient of a National award from Institute of Engineers, CNRS postdoctoral fellowship from UPMC Paris, National doctoral fellowship during her PhD from IIT Kanpur and Institute Gold medal during Masters program from Thapar University, Patiala. With an experience of more than 20 years in the field of Robotics, her current research interests include Modular Robotics for Industry 4.0, Exoskeleton designs, Robotic assistance in vertical farming and Customized robots for service and maintenance applications. Her contribution is visible through international and industrial collaborations, nearly 50 journal articles and conference publications in the field of Modular Robotics and Exoskeletons. She has completed four national/international projects (DST, DRDO) and two are in process as PI. She is also serving as Associate editor at reputed journals and contributing for various societies. She is founder and chair of an interdisciplinary platform, PUNJRobotics (www.punjrobotics.com), to focus on academic, professional and innovation-related activities not only at IIT Ropar but to connect many institutes around.
